Tuesday night I took Tim out for dinner for his birthday. I chose Parish because I had a groupon been wanting to try it since it first opened.
As it turned out, Parish was the perfect choice for our birthday celebration. The interior is beautifully decorated. It’s an older building with a modern, yet classic, decor. Huge chandeliers hang from the ceilings, chalkboards on the wall denote the day’s specials, the intimate tables are candlelit.
There was a gentleman playing some type of New Orleans jazz as we entered. It was the perfect way to set the scene for our intimate dinner. He even stopped singing to greet us as we entered.
The service at Parish was great. It was attentive without being intrusive. I truly believe that good service is imperative to a dining experience, so this was very important to me.
The food was yummy. We tried the house made sausages and beer can chicken turnover for appetizers. For entrees Tim had the stuffed catfish and I had the trout. We both loved his catfish and we both thought my trout was a bit bland.
They were out of banana pudding for dessert (boo) so we split the apple crisp with brown sugar ice cream. Yum!
All in all, it was a great evening. I definitely wouldn’t mind going back and I think it is a great date option for you.
Whoo hoo! So glad Parish got the Babs seal of approval! I figured it would. The Concentrics group does a good job. Can’t wait for date night now!
