You didn’t think I took Regan to the community pool and Chuck E. Cheese and that was the end of her birthday celebration, did you? Of course not! Don’t be ridiculous!
Year one was a hard year on so many levels, and so a true celebration was in order. I knew that in the future, Regan would get to choose what type of party she had, so I had to make this one extra special and unique for
We had a Hawaiian luau with all of her little friends, some of my friends and some of the blogland mommies. It was a super hot day, but with a slight breeze and lots of cold drinks, it was totally manageable.
I worked for months planning this party. I wanted it to be perfect for her. I wanted her to look back years from and know how much time and love went into planning her first birthday celebration. I think she’ll be pleased in hindsight.
We had the food catered from one of my favorite restaurants and the cake came from a local bakery. Let me tell you, the pics of this cake don’t do it justice at all. It was amazing. Like for real and for true. It was huge and the detailing was spectacular. It looked just like the little girl on the invitation, which looked just like Regan. The lei and the grass skirt were all individual layers of fondant. Oh and it tasted great too!
Here are a few pics from the afternoon…
