That Old Feeling

So sometime last week, not sure when exactly since the days seem to run together, I started feeling a bit twitchy about the lower left leg.  I didn’t think much of it at first, then one night I was lying in bed and I started having recollections of the big DVT of 2009.  Suddenly I could think of nothing more than having another blood clot in my leg, the clot breaking off and traveling to my lungs and poor Regan being left to be raised by wolves.  The next morning I frantically made a call to my PCP and got a name of a vascular specialist.

I called their office and when I mentioned that I had a history of DVT and was having pain in my leg they asked me to come in right away.  I hated to have to drop everything I was working on, but my health comes first so I did exactly that.  I got in my car and headed to the hospital.  Thankfully, they were able to squeeze me in fairly quickly, so it wasn’t long before my mind was put at ease.  No signs of a blood clot.  In fact, even my old blood clot had healed rather nicely.  There was little to no sign of scar tissue.

So that was my big medical scare last week.  I’m so glad it turned out to be nothing serious.  Now if I could just figure out why my leg hurts.

Maybe that is where you “carry” stress. I know it sounds stupid but everyone handles stress differently.

It is good you were able to check it out quickly. One less thing to stress about.

    Stay healthy!!

  6. Very glad it wasn’t serious…I don’t want you to have to get shots with big needles anymore.

Glad it’s nothing. I had the same thing in 2000. So ANY pain in my legs send me into a panic. So scary!! I’m a little comforted knowing I have that ‘umbrella’ to catch any future clots that decide to travel. Did you have one inserted?
